Tony Walker Tomes PR are pleased to announce that we are now representing Tony Walker.
Cab driver, jockey, actor, family man and a subject of the critically acclaimed “UP” Series is to be featured this coming Tuesday, the 29th of July 2014 on ITV at 9pm GMT. He has also been in talks with Celebrity Big Brother and I’m a Celebrity.
Following the lives of 14 British children since 1964, the series revisits the children every 7 years. The premise of the film was taken from the Jesuit motto “give me a child until he is seven and I will give you the man”. The critically acclaimed series is now up for an Emmy award.
Being especially charismatic, Tony’s image has been used for the films promotional materials. He actively attends promotional events along with the director of the series, Michael Apted who has also directed such notable films such as, Coal Miner’s Daughter, Gorillas in the Mist and The Chronicles of Narnia.
The late Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun Times was a great fan of the series. In 2006 he wrote, “Consider Tony. At 7 years old, he wanted to be a racing jockey. Brash, crew-cut, extroverted, he made it all seem clear. He did briefly become a jockey, even racing against the great Lester Piggott, but as an adult he was a London taxi driver.”
