Following in the success of their debut album The Glass Masses, the Portland, Oregon trio Rags & Ribbons is set to release their follow up EP, Magnesium Dreams. On October 1st, an exclusive premier of their video for the first single, ‘Rubikon’ will be played on Dirty Glitter, hosted by international DJ Brody Ramone heard on WBGU 88.1 radio and Horton FM. Attached is a clip as a taster to whet your appetite.
Not only are they starting to sell out shows in their native Portland and along the west coast of the US, but the band have been delighted to find that their tracks have been play-listed on 25 radio stations in the US, UK and Europe.
The standout video is reminiscent of the 80’s band Duran Duran’s epic videos where every four minute video was staged like a movie. The 80’s connection continues… production on the song reminds one of Haircut 100. It can even be said that Ben Weyerhaeuser is every bit as striking as Nick Heyward. Right now, 80’s music is back in fashion and 30 years from now this video will still be played on video channels around the world. Let’s hope their catalogue grows to be as extensive as that of Duran Duran.
Following the exclusive premiere in the US, the video will be circulated to 4Music, Channel 19, Viva, ITV, Video Jukebox and MTV Europe. ‘Rubikon’ will also be available to view on IMVBD on October 2nd.
Rags + Ribbons’ new single ‘Rubikon’ is available now to download, with the EP ‘Magnesium Dreams’ on October 16th. The band has also been signed up by Tomes PR UK and USA, and their tracks are currently being pitched to music supervisors for film and TV through Gotham Records at LA Sync.
